RW 312 is a stainless steel for welding used to join dissimilar metals, including carbon steel to stainless steel. Its high-ferrite weld metal improves hot-cracking resistance. It helps preserve a dual-phase microstructure under high nickel dilution. It is unsuitable above 300 °C or for components requiring post-weld heat treatment.
