A fully austenitic stainless welding wire suitable for joining dissimilar steels such as manganese steels, non-alloyed low-carbon steels, or low-alloy low-carbon steels. It is also appropriate for welding high-manganese steels containing approximately 14% Mn, armor steels, and other materials that are generally difficult to weld. The wire is frequently used as a buffer layer prior to hard-facing applications performed by weld overlay. Its high manganese content ensures that the weld metal remains fully austenitic, providing excellent resistance to hot cracking and ensuring high ductility.
