Steels with different end uses

Rodacciai’s production range is completed by different types of special steels intended for multiple uses, which can satisfy the particular and niche needs of many users.

The steels reported in this section are those most commonly produced by Rodacciai, but several other types, not included in this site, are produced upon request.

The heat treatments available for this type of steel – to be checked on a case-by-case basis according to the different qualities – are: rolled natural, workable annealed, isothermal annealed, globular annealed, normalized, and quenched and tempered.

RE60S Carbon steel derived from the E335 type of the standard EN 10025-2; the addition of sulfur confers greater machinability by chip removal. Not suitable for hardening heat treatments.
RE37 This basic steel with a low carbon content, present in the regulations since the beginning of the varied standards (Aq37, Fe37, Fe360, S235), is still widely used thanks to its versatility as it can be welded, bent, deformed, and worked in a variety of ways. Not suitable for heat treatments.
RE52D Carbon steel present in the European standard EN 10025-2 as S355, it has a very high resilience even at low temperatures. Widely used for the production of flanges and fittings and for construction in general. Not suitable for hardening heat treatments.

SB4 Steel with a very low carbon content, intended for the cold forming of very deformed and difficult-to-obtain small parts.
CB10FFS Low carbon steel with a chemical composition specially designed for cold deformation. The pieces obtained are generally subjected to carburization and tempering.
100CR6 Base steel for the production of balls, rollers and rings for bearings, and for all small parts that must be subjected to localized and repeated loads. The high carbon and chromium content allows high hardness and perfectly transformed structures to be obtained after tempering. When it must be machined by chip removal or cold deformation, it must always be provided at the globulization annealing state.

A105 K105 A carbon steel in accordance with US standards, it has a very high resilience even at low temperatures. Used for flanges, fittings, and construction in general.
A193-B7 A193-B7M Steel produced at the quenched and tempered state according to the United States standard ASTM A-193, widely used for linkages and bolts destined for the oil industry. It is analytically similar to 42CrMo4 of the European standard. The B7M version, produced at higher temperatures, has slightly lower resistance characteristics but greater plasticity.
A193 B16 A steel produced at the quenched and tempered state according to the United States standard ASTM A-193, it is used for linkages and bolts destined for the oil industry. Analytically similar to the 40CrMoV4-6 type of the European standard EN 10269. It has greater temperability than the previous type thanks to the higher amount of alloy elements.
A320-L7 A320-L7M Steel produced at the quenched and tempered state according to the United States standard ASTM A320, used for linkages and bolts destined for use at low temperature in the oil industry. It has mechanical characteristics similar to the A193 B7 type, but additionally guarantees resilience values at low temperature. The B7M version, produced at higher temperatures, has slightly lower resistance characteristics but greater plasticity.
